
The Varsity Baseball team up short Wednesday in a 5–3 loss to Pine Plains, despite out-hitting their opponent 12–9 in a competitive matchup.
Rhinebeck’s offense was led by James Jacox, Troy Martin, Oscar Clark, and Hunter North, who each recorded two hits. Dean Pendergast, Jacox, and Chase Hoehn drove in the Hawks’ three runs.
Pine Plains jumped ahead early, scoring in the first inning and extending the lead to 4–0 in the second. Rhinebeck battled back but couldn’t overcome the deficit. Sawyer Giles pitched five innings for the Hawks, striking out five.
The Hawks will look to bounce back Friday when they host Rondout Valley in a 4:15 PM game.
