The Varsity Baseball team ran into a tough matchup Monday, May 11th, falling 14-0 to the New Paltz Varsity Huguenots in a non-league baseball contest.
Rhinebeck battled throughout the game, but New Paltz jumped out early with three runs in the first inning and never looked back. The Huguenots added three more in the second, another in the third, and broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning.
Despite the loss, Rhinebeck’s Damian Haag turned in a strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-2 to account for two of the Hawks’ three hits on the day.
James Jacox started on the mound for Rhinebeck, striking out three over 3 2/3 innings.
Rhinebeck will look to bounce back Wednesday, May 13th, when the Hawks travel to face Rondout Valley.
