The Varsity Baseball team battled throughout Thursday’s game at Spackenkill but fell to the Spartans 15–5.
Rhinebeck showed patience at the plate and generated several offensive opportunities, drawing seven walks on the day to keep pressure on Spackenkill’s pitching staff. Sawyer Giles led the Hawks offensively, driving in two runs while also collecting a hit. Damian Haag also added a hit for Rhinebeck, contributing to the team’s offensive efforts.
On the mound, Giles started for Rhinebeck and worked through early traffic before turning the ball over after 2⅓ innings. Despite facing a strong Spackenkill lineup, the Hawks’ pitching staff continued to compete and recorded key strikeouts throughout the game.
The Hawks next play on Monday, April 13th when they host Webutuck in a 4:15 PM game.
