The Varsity Baseabll team defeated Dover by a score of 6-5 on Monday, April 27th, holding firm despite a late-game push from the Dragons.
Rhinebeck set the tone early, jumping out to a first-inning lead and extending it to 4–0 by the third. Strong plate discipline played a key role, as the Hawks drew nine walks and consistently applied pressure on the bases, racking up five stolen bases.
James Jacox led the way both on the mound and at the plate. He earned the win with an impressive outing, striking out eight over nearly seven innings, while also driving in two runs. Contributions came from across the lineup, with hits from Jacox, Oscar Clark, John Haight, and Damian Haag, and Sawyer Giles adding three walks.
Defensively, Rhinebeck stayed composed, turning a key double play to help maintain control.
Dover mounted a late comeback attempt, but Troy Martin came in to strike out the final batter and secure the victory.
Rhinebeck hosts Pine Plains on Wednesday, April 29th in a MHAL Division 4 game at 4:15 PM.
