Varsity Track & Field Competes at Millbrook

Rhinebeck track and field traveled on Tuesday, 5/6, to compete against host Millbrook. The boys’ team narrowly missed out on a win, falling to Millbrook 54-60. The girls’ team also lost 22-76. 

Individual highlights include:

  • Joaquim Azevedo winning the 400m hurdles (1:12.6) in his debut performance
  • The boys 4×800 relay (Augy Lamm, Nery Lopez Contreras, Luis Gijon Pablo, Jason Gisby-Hanks) winning uncontested
  • Fiona Murray placing 2nd in the 100m dash (14.0)
  • Parker Ruger placing 2nd in the 100m dash (12.0) in a three-way photo-finish
  • Ruger returning to win the 400m dash (55.0), with Gisby-Hanks finishing 2nd (56.1)
  • The girls 4×100 relay (Sadie Shalam, Murray, Sophia Santoro, Maddy Santoro) winning with a time of 55.8
  • Bluebell Quested winning the 800m run (2:49.1) in her debut performance
  • Rhinebeck boys sweeping the 800m run, lead by Quin Gideon (2:20.8), followed by Landon Williams (2:22.3) and Alex Button (2:33.5)
  • Maddy Santoro (29.4) and Fiona Murray (29.8) placing 1st and 2nd in the 200m dash
  • Felix Miller winning the 200m dash (25.2)
  • The boys 4x400m relay (Gideon, Gisby-Hanks, Brady Fischer, Ruger) winning in 3:45.5
  • Greg Reed (30’11.5) and Nate Mastroeni (29’6″) placing 2nd and 3rd in the shot put
  • Rhinebeck sweeping the discus, led by Reed in a PR of 112″, followed by Jesse Tompkins Jr (84’8) and Trayse Kasnia-Herman (82’9″)
  • Landon Williams placing 3rd in the long jump (15″10.25′)

Rhinebeck returns to action at the Steinhoff Cup hosted by Ellenville this Friday (5/9) where they are scheduled to compete against thirteen other teams.
