Rhinebeck track and field hosted visiting Pine Plains last night on Tuesday, the 29th of April.
On the boys’ side, Rhinebeck emerged victorious, winning 49 to 38, with numerous first place finishes. The meet opened with the boys 4×800 (Augy Lamm, Alex Button, Rex Colding, Parker Ruger) running uncontested. In the 100m, Chris Winters ran to a 3rd place finish with a time of 12.8. Rhinebeck swept 1st through 3rd in the 400m, led by Brady Fishcer (56.8) with Joaqium Azevedo (66.9) and Jack Hewitt (69.0) following. Jason-Gisby Hanks (2:10.7) also led a sweep in the 800m, with Landon Williams (2:21.9) and Augy Lamm (2:34.6) finishing 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Rhinebeck also swept the 200m, led by Parker Ruger (23.2) with Felix Miller (24.7) and Quin Gideon (24.9) closing out the remaining scoring spots. The track portion closed with a win by the 4×400 relay (Quin Gideon, Jason Gisby-Hanks, Felix Miller, Parker Ruger) in 3:48.5. Rhinebeck also had scorers in the field events. Greg Reed (31’3.5″) and Nate Mastroeni (30’10”) finished 2nd and 3rd in the shot put, while Reed returned for a 3rd place finish in discus with a throw of 85’7″. Lastly, Walker Codling (14’5.5″) and Joaquim Azevedo (13’7″) finished 1st and 3rd in the long jump.
On the girls’ side, Pine Plains had a dominant performance, winning 80 – 9. Fiona Murray placed 2nd in the 100m with a time of 13.9 before returning to win the 100m hurdles uncontested in a time of 19.0. Bluebell Quested also scored for Rhinebeck, placing 3rd in the 400m with a time of 1:12.9.

Rhinebeck returns to action this Saturday at the Race at the Oval Office invitational hosted by FDR. The freshman/sophomore portion of the meet is set to start at 9:00 A.M. with varsity races following in the afternoon.
