On Tuesday, September 9th, the Rhinebeck Hawks varsity volleyball team hosted the Pine Plains Bombers in a hard-fought match that went the full five sets. Unfortunately for Rhinebeck, they were defeated 3-2 after a back-and-forth battle.

The Hawks started the match started strong winning the first two sets 25-13 and 25-20. Pine Plains fought back in sets 3 (25-19) and set 4 (25-14) forcing the fifth set. The decisive fifth set saw numerous lead changes before Pine Plains narrowly escaped with a 15-13 victory.

Individually, Rhinebeck had standout performances from Abigail Connolly (9 kills), Madison Ranalli (9 aces, 7 digs, 4 kills, and 1 block), Kate Reichelt (6 aces, 7 digs, and 6 kills), and Kaia Rouse (10 assists, 3 aces, 8 digs, and 4 kills).
