The Varsity Baseball team pulled out a 6–4 win over Ellenville in a non-league game on Monday, April 20th. The Hawks were powered by aggressive baserunning and timely hitting.
Rhinebeck struck first with a steal of home by Damian Haag, then battled back after Ellenville briefly took the lead in the third. The Hawks evened things up in the fifth behind key hits from John Haight and Sawyer Giles, and took control for good in the sixth when a wild pitch brought in the go-ahead run.
James Jacox earned the win on the mound, while Troy Martin closed things out with two scoreless innings. Offensively, Giles, Haight, and Haag led the way with two hits apiece, and Haight added three stolen bases as Rhinebeck piled up five steals overall.
The Hawks return to the field on Wednesday when they travel to Dover for a 4:15 game.
