The Varsity Boys Swim Team dropped a close meet at Newburgh on January 9th, 85–57.

Rhinebeck was led by Ray Eckert (12 points) and Joseph Pociask (10 points). Eckert captured first place in the 200 freestyle (2:05.86), earning a Section IX qualifying time, and followed it up with another first-place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:03.60). Pociask won the 200 IM in 2:19.36, also a Section IX cut time, and placed second in the 100 freestyle (55.76).

The meet also featured personal best performances for six Rhinebeck swimmers:

• Owen Bozenski – 100 backstroke (1:15.00)
• Jackson Morton – 50 freestyle (29.31)
• Joseph Pociask – 200 IM (2:19.36)
• JJ Robinson – 50 freestyle (28.03)
• Sean Murray – 50 freestyle (30.50)
• Mason Webb – 100 butterfly (1:45.40)

The Hawks return to the pool on Monday, January 12th when they travel to Pine Bush to take on Chester and Pine Bush at 4:30 PM.
