Cold temperatures and windy conditions greeted the Rhinebeck Varsity Cross Country team on Saturday, October 17, as the Hawks competed in the John Lombardo Invitational in Saugerties. Despite the challenging weather, Rhinebeck’s runners turned in several strong performances.
Auggie Lamm led the boys’ team with an impressive time of 17:30, followed by Asa Rothenhaus in 19:19. Joey Frischknecht (20:17), Declan Lockwood (20:26), and Lyol Cole (20:55) also delivered solid performances, helping lead the Hawks through the difficult conditions.
On the girls’ side, Hannah Carson finished with a time of 28:46, while McKenna Bresnahan completed the course in 30:03.
The Hawks now turn their attention to the MHAL Cross Country Championships on Thursday, October 22, at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, where they will look to build on their performances from the invitational.
